
Plateau State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has outlined activities marking its 2024 Press Week starting September 9 to 15, 2024 commencing with Community Service.
This came in a press statement signed by the Chairman Central Planning Committee and his Secretary, Comrade Pam Musa and Comrade Hosea Nyamlong, respectively and made available to newsmen in Jos, the Plateau State capital Monday.
The statement said, “the Press Week will commence on Monday, September 9th with a Community Service at the Jos City Center aimed at giving back to the society.
“There will be a health talk and a free medical checkup for members and their wards on Tuesday, September 10.
“The well-thought-out programme is focused on promoting health and wellness among journalists and members of the society”, the statement disclosed.
Other activities would subsequently continue Wednesday September 11, as it was reserved for a friendly football match between journalists and staff of Plateau United Football Club at the New Jos Stadium by 3pm.

Meanwhile, the grand finale would be on Thursday September 12, at Patrick’s Hall, Crispan Hotel Jos where a keynote address, awards and recognition would be featured.
Thereafter, the Juma’at prayer would be held afternoon Friday, September 13 and the first ever Plateau NUJ Cultural Night would be celebrated September 14th.
Accordingly, the press week would round off on Sunday September 15, 2024 with a Thanksgiving service.
The leadership of NUJ Plateau Council, therefore, solicited for the support and cooperation of members and Plateau Citizens for the successful Press Week.
