We know that there are women and there are women; indeed, just as we have men and there are men also.
If this does not explain anything to you, you can imagine a woman in the midst of a male dominated state party Exco, being the leader.
What comes to mind is: ‘An barta ne’. Translated: The men are not up it, they must have just left her.
But the women have every right to belong to a party. It is not meant for the men alone.
Gone are the days we always refer to women as the weaker vessels. Today, they are more than what men consider them to be.
They are what they have become on account of their innate ability, always suppressed by men in most fields.
Consider for instance Amb Hannatu Gagara, Chairman of African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Plateau State, which was validated on August 23, 2024.
And by God’s grace, Organising Secretary of Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Plateau State chapter.
If anyone told me she would be involved in politics, I could have stuck my neck betting that the daughter of Gambo Amark Ayu JP, and wife to Nehemiah would be the last to get involved in party politics.
If you knew her dispostion as at the time I first knew her, politics would have been the last vocation to choose. But today, it is a different story, told by those who have walked the streets canversing for votes with her.
The coverage of her party in the state may not be large for now, but those who have mastered the game know that everything big in politics always starts with the small ‘mustard seed’.
The seeds in her bowels cannot be underestimated and disparaged. The ways of God are not ours to doubt.
