A Philanthropist and Founder of Clement Soje Adesina Foundation, Chief Soje Adesina, has been honoured with an Award of humanitarian impact in the education sector and community development by the Nigeria Post Newspaper, published in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital
The Philanthropist through his Foundation has impacted over 200 pupils in Magongo community in Kogi state, preparing them for the National Common Entrance Examination as he sponsored more than 50 students to various Federal Unity Colleges across Nigeria.
The Publisher of the Nigeria Post Newspaper, Mr. Michael Abuh while presenting the Award to Chief Soje Adesina, on Thursday said the gesture was well deserved and an effort aimed at encouraging others to emulate.
Mr Michael Abuh named the Foundation’s contributions to include:
- Funding five auxiliary teachers at Magongo Community Secondary School for the past four years and continuing.
- Providing monthly stipends to 20 widows and individuals with medical challenges for the past two years.
- Covering medical expenses, including surgeries, for community members with severe health conditions.
- Distributing food and cash packages to Christians and Muslims during their festivals, a practice established in the last four years.
Additionally, through the Osayin Ugbegbe socio-cultural group, he has consistently covered WAEC fees for all SS3 candidates in Magongo’s Senior Secondary Schools for the past six years, at a substantial annual cost.
His commitment to the Magongo Development Association (MDA) is marked by contributions to road rehabilitation, the renovation of deteriorating structures, the sinking of boreholes, and the distribution of food to the less privileged.
Chief Adesina’s compassion extends to the physically challenged in Ogori-Magongo Local Government, as evidenced by his recent donation of electric-powered mobile bikes.
He is also a respected member of the __ Age Group in Magongo, an organization dedicated to community development.
