The National Orientation Agency (NOA), Plateau State, has, ahead of the October 9 Local Government Council Elections, embarked on awareness campaign within Jos-Bukuru metropolis calling on the electorate to come en-masse to exercise their franchise.




The campaign led by the NOA State Director, Mrs. Kaneng Tabitha Pam-Hworo, started 9am at the Secretariat Flyover as staff of agency used Public Address System and Flyers through Plateau Hospital, Central Bank, General Post Office, Terminus, Dilimi Yantaya, Filin Ball, ECWA Nasarawa, Yan Shanu, Tina junction and Angwan Rukuba, educating the electorate.




Other areas visited during the awareness campaign were PADP area, Bauchi park, Angwan Rogo/Angwan Rimi, Farin Gada, St. Murumba, Utan, Rukuba Road, Satellite market, Gada Biyu market, Polo and Tudun Wada market, all in Jos-North LGA as they stopover respectively to educate and entertain any rising questions from the electorate.


While entertaining questions from Journalists, the Plateau State Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mrs. Kaneng Tabitha Pam-Hworo, expressed confidence in the election process and called on citizens to not stay back, but come out massively to participate in the election.




She said, “I am happy that the day has come, the day that we in the National Orientation Agency have set aside to create awareness in the metropolitan areas of the State especially, Jos-North and South on the forthcoming Local Government Council Elections.

“We want to further sensitising people which we have been doing on different platforms. We have come out using the motorised campaign so that, Nigerians should know that we are in synergy with the State Government to mobilise the people to come out and vote.
“The elections will be all inclusive. Whether you are physically impaired, there will be provisions for everybody including the Braille Ballots Papers for the visually impaired persons to vote. I am confident with the election process because each process has been taken step by step to this final stage”, Pam-Hworo expressed.



She, therefore, called on the people of Plateau State to please come out for this local government elections and exercise their franchise on October 9, 2024 which would start by 8am to 3pm across the 17 LGAs, believing that there would be no election apathy.
The motorised campaign would continue tomorrow Tuesday in Jos-South Local Government Area of the State in a similar procession, creating awareness campaign respectively.
