The Speaker, Plateau State of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Gabriel K. Dewan, has encouraged the newly elected Local Government Council Chairmen to collaborate and key into the development agenda of Governor Caleb Mutfwang to help move Plateau State forward.
He gave the advice today Thursday, while fielding questions from Journalists at the PLASIEC headquarters in Jos, the State capital shortly after paying an assessment visit to the Commission.

The Speaker appreciated the people of Plateau State for conducting themselves peacefully during and after the elections, and also commended PLASIEC for conducting one of the most credible and transparent elections ever witnessed in the state.
He, however, noted that even though some of them were from the opposition parties and have the tenancy of criticising the process saying, “but to be fair to PLASIEC who is the electoral umpire and Government, I can say the election was free and fair.

“So, all I want to tell the newly elected Council Chairmen and Councillors is that, we have a Governor who within the shortest period of time, to be fair to him, has shown courage, determination and zeal that he is ready to work for Plateau State.
“My advice to the newly elected Local Government Council Chairmen is to cooperate and collaborate with the Governor and key into his blueprint and development agenda so that, we can move Plateau forward”, Dewan advised.
This, he suggested, was because as local government chairmen, they stood the change of building the image of the Governor through his agenda in the grassroots as ambassadors so that, the dividends of democracy would reach the last man.
