Plateau State Deputy Governor, Her Excellency, Josephine Piyo, has expressed profound sorrow regarding the untimely demise of her official driver, Mr. David Yakubu Gbwan, who passed away unexpectedly on October 24, 2024.

This came in a press statement signed by Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Martha Nyam, and made available to newsmen in Jos, the Plateau State capital yesterday.


The Deputy Governor while extending her heartfelt condolences to Mr. Gbwan’s family, described his passing as both shocking and deeply painful.
She described him as an honest, capable and reliable individual who approached his responsibilities with the utmost diligence and care until his death.

Having served as her personal driver for over 15 years, Piyo noted that he demonstrated unwavering loyalty, dedication and integrity in the performance of his duties.
The Deputy Governor, expressed her sympathy to the residents of Riyom Local Government Area, the Lwa community of Bachit District, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) family and the entire state in light of this significant loss.

She offered prayers for solace for his family, friends, and colleagues, and for God to grant his soul eternal peace in heaven.
