The Tertiary Education Trust Fund TETfund, has built, furnished and formally handover a 192 Capacity Female Hostel to Plateau State University (PLASU) Bokkos as part of its merged interventions to the University.
Taking over the edifice, Acting Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Shedrack Best, commended TETfund for the intervention describing the hostel accommodation as key component of students life.


He said, “the hostel accommodation is key to students’ life, performance and education development of the system. All measures will be put in place to ensure that this edifice is well utilise and maintained by the students.
“It is my desire that all students are well preserved in Hostel so that the management can take responsibility of their safety. We do not want our students to stay off campus”, Best assured.


The fully furnished one storey edifice built by Tertiary Education Fund under the 2022/2023 merged Tetfund intervention projects, was meant to address the hostel accommodation especially for female students.
Speaking on behalf of the contractors, Obina Ode, of the Dang Global Limited, said they were constraint by the inflation rate which caused them not to finish on the projected time frame, but with persistence in executing the project,they were able to finished.


He expressed concern that due to the high cost of building materials, they have incurred so many losses and appealed to the Management of the University to look into those indices for consideration
Meanwhile, the Representatives of the Students Union who are the major beneficiaries, came out in their numbers and expressed gratitude as they were seen chanting solidarity song to TETFUND and the university management.
