The Joint Assembly of Christian Lawyers and Journalists (JACLJ), has raised eyebrows over unnecessary uproar by some groups of Islamic clerics who were bent at attracting controversy over the sitting of Sayawa Chiefdom headquarters in Tafawa Balewa town.

This came in a statement signed by JACLJ and made available to newsmen in Jos, the Plateau State capital recently, following the creation and sitting of Sayawa Chiefdom headquarters in Tafawa Balewa town of Bauchi State.

The Assembly, therefore, called on those bent at sparking controversy to stay clear and seek follow the proper channel of venting their concerns and stop overheating the issue unnecessarily.

JACLJ noted that the Governor’s kind gesture should not be allowed to generate unnecessary controversy that jeopardise the efforts of Governor Bala Muhammad to peace and security of Bauchi State.

The, however,  commended Governor Bala Mohammed for taking bold steps to create the Sayawa Chiefdom, towards building lasting peace and development to the marginalized Sayawa people.

The Joint Assembly of Christian Lawyers and Journalists (JACLJ) praised the Governor’s decision and applauded him describing him as the Messiah of the minority ethnic nationalities in only Bauchi State, but Nigeria at large.

It would be recalled that the need for the Sayawa Chiefdom has been long overdue and it was a dream come true for the Za’ar Sayawa people of Bauchi State and Governor Bala Muhammad’s name would be forgotten in the sands of time.

JACLJ also appealed for unity and peace and urged traditional leaders, interest groups and religious leaders to eschew bitterness and promote harmony.

The group is backed by the National Coalition of Christian Youths in Politics (NACOCYP) and expressed support for Governor Mohammed’s decision to create the Za’ar Sayawa Chiefdom.
