Member representing Jos-North/Bassa Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber of  National Assembly, Hon. Daniel Asama, has implored youth to engage themselves in gainful opportunities and stay away from crime that hurt people since it would never satisfied them.
He stated this Monday, while in an interview with Journalists shortly after a town hold meeting with various leaders representing his constituents at the conference hall of The Bridge Hotel in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
The Lawmaker prayed that his constituents would collectively fight insecurity to help make the Constituency sweet saying, “we have the heart of Plateau. We are the centre of development,  centre of civilization and so,  let’s hold Plateau.

“Hurting people will never make you satisfied. It is crime at the end of the day and it does not pay. At the end, you will have to be caught. You will pay for it. So, why did you even trail in that way?
“Find something. Make a significant thing. Be legit in your hustles. Find something that is clean. It’s better the little you have than the plenty that you have with a lot of curses.
“Let’s know that nobody that has done crime has ever gone free with it. Why won’t you just calm down, settle down and do something for yourself? Let’s find a living”, he encouraged .
According to Asama, “I am calling on all the younger men, whether you are a cult member, whether you are in a group, whether you’ve been snatching phones, whether you’ve been sneaking into people’s house and stealing chicken, or whatever you’ve been doing, please, it doesn’t pay. I’m telling you sincerely, crime does not pay.
“Try and look back into what you’re going to do to make a living. For those who are kidnapping, for those who are robbing, I’m only praying that God will change your hearts, that God will touch you so that you stop these things”, he prayed.

The 10th Assembly Legislator, therefore, commended the security personnel, both military and paramilitary, for the job well done and prayed God to continue to protect and give them wisdom to protect the people.
He, however, expressed hope that the budgetary provision of over ₦2.8 trillion captured in the 2025 budget on defence should not be just the figure, but should be transformed into physical action on the ground and to be felt in the grassroot.
