The Media Action for Health, Environment and Sustainable Development (MAHESD), has congratulated Dr. Nicholas Ba’amlong, on his appointment as the Plateau State Commissioner of Health by Governor Caleb Mutfwang.
It has also congratulated the State Commissioner for Environment, Climate Change and Mineral Development, Hon. Peter Gwom, on his reappointment to oversee the affairs his Ministry.
This came in a press statement signed by the MAHESD Program Officer, Joel Gomiyar, and made available to newsmen in Jos, the Plateau State capital Wednesday.

The statement states, “on behalf of the Board Chairman, EXCO and entire members of Media Action for Health, Environment and Sustainable Development (MAHESD), I write to congratulate Dr Nicholas Ba’amlong, on his appointment and subsequent inauguration as the Plateau State Commissioner for Health.
“We appreciate the understanding and the cordial working relationship we had with the outgoing Commissioner for Health, Dr Cletus Shurkuk, and pray that this same relationship with you in place as the incoming Commissioner. We congratulated you and pray that you succeed in your new assigned ministry.
“We are also delighted to hear the reappointment of Hon. Peter Gwom as the Honourable Commissioner for Environment, Climate Change, and Mineral Development. This is no doubt, a proof of his commitment and innovation in the ministry.
“Your appointments to spearhead these critical ministries that have to do with the health and wellbeing of the citizens of the state and the environment is no doubt a big task, but with your wealth of experiences and commitment to service, you will succeed”, the statement noted.
The Program Officer, therefore, urged the the two commissioners to settle down and hit the ground running towards actualizing the good vision of “THE TIME IS NOW” administration.
“We look forward to working with you in your new roles, to raise awareness through our various medium as like-minds media practitioners that are desiring to promote healthy environment across the state and beyond”, he emphasized.
Gomiyar, however, extended MAHESD’s appreciation to the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for his many interventions in the health sector and infrastructure, equipments and drugs across Primary Health Care (PHC), Plateau State Aids Control Agency, (PLACA), among others.
He highlighted that, the Media Action for Health, Environment and Sustainable Development, (MAHESD) is a consortium of like-minds media practitioners from Prints, Broadcasts and the new media, (Bloggers) who came together to promote issues relating to health, environment and sustainable development.
While praying for the government to excel, the media professionals assured Governor Mutfwang and his administration of their collective contributions and support to secure the state.
