The President of Plateau Initiative for Development and Advancement of the Natives (PIDAN), Ambassador Nanpon Danjuma Sheni, and the entire good people of Plateau, have expressed deepest appreciation to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu GCFR, for establishing North Central Commission.
This came in a press statement signed by the PIDAN Secretary, Danjuma Dickson Auta, and made available to newsmen in Jos, the Plateau State capital Wednesday.
The statement states, “PIDAN believes that as the Commission takes effect, the people of the region will surely sigh a sense of relief as the Commission is meant to oversee the development and growth of the North Central Region. The Commission will focus on promoting economic empowerment and reducing poverty in the region.

“We also believe that the Commission will bring about massive infrastructural development in the region by providing critical infrastructures, including roads, bridges, and healthcare facilities.
“PIDAN also wishes to place on record its appreciation to members of the National Assembly Caucus from Plateau State under the leadership of Sen. Barr. Simon Bako Lalong and their counterparts from the North Central and other states, for fighting, putting aside party differences to ensure that the Commission became a reality”, it stated.
The PIDAN President also appreciated the co-sponsor of the bill, former Senator Istifanus D. Gyang and minority Senator Abba Moro emphasizing that, the establishment of the North Central Committee was a great testimony to the memory of Senator J.T. Useni who had also fought for its establishment in the 8th Senate.

He said, the establishment of the North Central Commission would not have been possible without the collaborative efforts of the members from Plateau state who worked closely with their colleagues from other states to build consensus.
“As PIDAN awaits the constitution of the management team for the Commission, we urge Mr. president to ensure that Justice, equity and fairness are observed”, the PIDAN President noted.
