He said , “so far so good, I think having gone round, we have seen the progress of work. I can see that the contractor has done well, about 50% completion. We have seen the quality of the work. I think there is proper supervision by the Ministry.

“Our mision is to familiarise ourself with the road project. 6.7 is one of those roads. I think it’s one of the roads that the Governor has given attention to because he has promised them that, he was going to construct this road during his campaign.

“And it’s an effort also to upgrade some of these slums we have. This road is very key, very critical to this administration. You can see we have mobilised a contractor. We are trying to see that his certificates are not delayed as long as he is on site”, he emphasized.

Dongtoe expressed satisfaction with the work, but observed that there were some areas identified that needed to be addressed when they return back to the office so that, they could be addressed.

The Commissioner, disclosed that the time frame for the contract would be 12 months and that, the Governor was very mindful of the time also.

He, however, called on the benefitting community to support and cooperate with contractor to achieve what they contracted to do, urging them to continue to pray for this government for it to deliver on the promises and the dividends of democracy.

Responding on behalf of contracting company, the Project Engineer of Jolex Construction, Engr. Dung Nyam, expressed confidence that they were going to complete the contract within the timeframe.

“We appreciate the Ministry for the cordial relationship that we have been working with and we are also giving out our best so that, we have a very quality and lasting road so that, the government will also see based on our performance for us to have another project to ride on”, he assured.
