Happy birthday Governor Mutfwang, thanks a bunch

“Leadership is not about titles, positions or flowcharts. It is about one life positively influencing others and transforming communities.”
~Anonymous.
This quote perfectly encapsulates Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang’s exceptional leadership style.

The Governor’s leadership trajectory is truly inspiring, transcending the usual political expediency that often defines decisions and actions in government. His approach seems to be divinely inspired, fostering a sense of unity and inclusivity. For instance, he refers to opposition members as “brothers and sisters”, promoting conflict resolution and avoiding public altercations.
The Governor’s peace building initiative has gained traction, with key proponents of his administration embracing this new approach. This mindset shift places a responsibility on all Plateau daughters and sons who are privileged to hold public office now, and in the future to provide good governance equitably and justly.

Governor Mutfwang has always emphasized the importance of resolving internal disagreements within the Plateau community. He believes that public feud between successive governments is counter productive and should be consigned to the past. Instead, he advocates for addressing differences in a constructive, respectful manner, avoiding unnecessary escalation and ensuring that past leaders are treated with digity. The usual brit, brat should be jettisoned for our common good.

Little wonder it was, when arising from the March 4th, 2025 State Executive Council meeting led by Governor Mutfwang, the erudite Commissioner of Information Rt. Hon. Joyce Ramnap together with the works maestro, the Commissioner of Works, Hon. Joshua Laven Ubandoma made public the decision of the State Government to undertake massive road infrastructure projects across the State. Indeed, it did not come as a surprise; the people know the Governor as a performer.
The Information Commissioner announced that, “Roads to receive attention include: the Rukuba-Miango-Farin Lamba road with a spur to Dochai and Kent Academy; School of Accountancy Kwall, and Kpen Ryen in Bassa Local Government Area.”
She added that “In Pankshin and Kanke Local Government Areas, roads approved for completion include the Gungji-Shiwer-Dokpai road with a spur to Tiplik.” “In addition,” she said, “the Jibam-Dokan-Kasuwa-Baap Kurgwi road, with a spur to Lardam Bwall-Kwoor and Tim road connecting Pankshin and Quan Pan Local Government Areas” will also receive attention.
Furthermore, the Commissioner announced that “Jos North and Jos East will witness massive road construction on the NDLEA-Zarazong-Fobur route.”
Other prominent projects also billed for attention include:

  1. 10 major roads within the Jos-Bukuru Metropolis, including vital routes in Bukuru and other urban areas, to be handled by the State Road Maintenance Agency.
  2. The Wase-Langtang Bridge, which collapsed due to damage caused by an overloaded truck, even though it’s a federal road, the Governor instructed a team of experts to should go assess it for possible intervention.
  3. The procurement of 6,300 tons of assorted fertilizers for farmers. The Gungji -Kurrum-Shiwer-Dokpai road project, with a spur to Tiplik, spans three districts in Kanke and one in Pankshin, passing through three electoral wards in Kanke and one in Pankshin. Although it traverses two Local Government Areas, this is not the only reason the project is strategic. It will undoubtedly transform rural communities by opening up the hinterlands which are predominantly aggrerian and home to diverse range of farm produce, including guinea corn, various types of millet, fonio (Acha), beans, groundnuts and baobab products. Other notable products include livestock, onions, tomatoes, various types of pepper, palm products, sesame, honey, and other bee products. By facilitating the ease of movement, this road project will significantly enhance the economic well-being of these communities and their people.
This project was initiated by the administration of Baba Jonah David Jang, but was not completed. Despite efforts by the benefiting communities over the next eight years, no progress was made. As a member of Shiwer community, one of the beneficiaries, I am thrilled to see this project revived. Our community’s excitement and gratitude are palpable.
“To whom much is given, much is expected.” This timeless phrase perfectly reenforces Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang’s outstanding leadership. His commitment to our communities is truly commendable, and his exceptional performance has undoubtedly lived up to the high expectations that come with his position.
Thank you, Mr. Governor for your tireless efforts to improve the lives of our people. Your dedication is a shining example of responsible leadership.
Congratulations on your well-deserved award as the Sun Newspaper Governor of the Year! I also wish you a happy birthday, Sir!
    Signed:
