The Acting Executive Chairperson, Plateau State Gender and Equal Opportunities Commission, Barr. Olivia Dazyam, has expressed deep shock and sadness over the unprovoked incessant killings of innocent Plateau people by marauding gunmen.
This came in a press statement signed by the Commission’s Director, Media and Investigation, Nene Dung, and made available to newsmen in Jos, the Plateau State capital Tuesday.
The Chairperson said the killings showed that there were elements who do not want Plateau people to enjoy their God-given peace.
She, therefore, commiserated with the Executive Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, Government, families and people of Bassa and Bokkos Local Government Areas, and the entire people of Plateau State over these losses.
Barr. Dazyam commended the efforts of the Governor and Security Agencies in trying to provide succour for the citizens and survivors.
The Chairperson said, “our hearts are grieving and really heavy when we woke to the unsettling news of our people who have been slaughtered for no reason and we pray God to comfort families of the victims and the entire Plateau state”.
She hoped that more effort would be made by the Federal Government to unravel the mystery behind these nefarious characters and give Plateau citizens the justice they demanded and deserved.
