Plateau State Chapter of the National Councillors Forum of Nigeria (NCFN), has condemned in strong terms the continuous attacks on innocent citizens of state, calling for the increased presence of federal assistance.
This came in a press statement signed by the Plateau State Chairman of NCFN, Rt. Hon. Duba Allahyafi Samson JP, and made available to newsmen in Jos, the Plateau State capital Thursday.
The statement states, “the National Councilors Forum of Nigeria, Plateau State Chapter, extends its deepest condolences to Governor Caleb Mutfwang and the bereaved families in Bassa, Bokkos, and other affected areas of Plateau State.
“The Forum strongly condemns the recent attacks that have resulted in loss of lives and property.To the families of the victims, NCFN offers its heartfelt sympathies and prayers for the repose of the departed souls.
“May the affected communities find strength and resilience in this difficult time.Together, we can overcome these challenges and build a brighter future for the Plateau State”, it reiterated.
The forum, therefore, commended Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s proactive approach to addressing security challenges, particularly in fostering synergy with the police and Operation Safe Haven.
This, according to the forum, his administration’s efforts to revamp Operation Rainbow, a state-owned security outfit, by recruiting vigilantes to enhance security in crisis-prone areas were notable.
The Plateau State Chairman of the NCFN said, “we also appreciate the security agencies for their dedication to controlling the situation. We urge President Bola Tinubu to redouble efforts in assisting Plateau State to tackle its security challenges”.
He added that , Governor Mutfwang’s successful advocacy for security interventions, would increased federal support and significantly enhance the state’s capacity to manage insecurity.
According to the Plateau State Chapter of NCFN, it has remained committed to collaborating with Governor Mutfwang’s administration and security agencies to promote peace and stability across the state.
