Caveat: I cannot lay claims to having had the full grasp of the man, Hon David Bitrus Barji. But his essence, I have come to establish.
In 2022, while the race for the House of Representatives started, yours sincerely had contact with him for the first time.
Truly, it is right to know, if he came to test the murky political waters, or for the purpose of service to people. He came for the later.
How has he proved his mettle over the years? He has since become a master and strategist in handling people and events.
When contact and mobilisation of men and resources are handed to some of his traducers of late, their ingenuity would fail them.
How he has handled these tasks has befuddled them, to the point of giving him a bad, just so that they can crucify him.
Consider this: Twice had the Ngas Development Association found him worthy, twice did he not disappoint the Ngas people in the assignment of organising the PUUSDUNG.
Those who know him are quick to point and say his rate of hardwork and motivation enabled him go through the university and obtained a Bsc degree in Accountancy.
He complemented that with a masters in Organisational Leadership and currently would soon cap it with a PhD in the same field.
Being a thorough community activist, he supports young people to attain their potentials as well as incentivise their efforts in business to grow large.
Through the Barji Hope Foundation, community and humanitarian services have found a fertile ground for their expression, with awards to boot in his favour.
Doubt it? Ask graduates who got job placements in various government and private organisations on account of his interventions. What about students, the aged and widows who have been assisted in several ways by him?
It does appear, and it can be verified, the humanitarian spirit of service is resident in many in Dawaki to enable Ngolong Dawaki, Nde William Gombwir to choose from amongst them to honour with chieftaincy titles.
On Saturday, May 3, 2025 the people of Dawaki of Kanke LGA will celebrate the Pus Rot Pwel Day.
The District Head of Dawaki, HRH, Nde Julius Gombwir will, on that day, coronate Hon David Bitrus Barji as Talban Dawaki.
He is married to Sarah who, together are blessed with three children: Arrit, Arbat and Ar’Khinen.
