The newly elected National President of the University of Jos Alumni Association (UJAA), Dr Gad Shamaki Peter, has described his victory as a victory not to him, but the entire Josites.

He stated this yesterday, while delivering his Acceptance Speech shortly after being declared winner of the election held at the University of Jos, Plateau State.

The President expressed gratitude to God and to alumni for the confidence reposed in him saying, “I feel deeply honored to stand as the 9th elected National President of the noble alumni Association of our Alma mater.

“This victory is not just about me, it is about every single one of us who dares to believe that the greatness of UNIJOS does not end at graduation…it continues, it grows, it shines brighter!

“I am deeply honored to accept this responsibility and I make this promise to you that: I will serve with passion and purpose; I will lead with vision and I will work tirelessly to lift our Association higher than ever before!

“Our dreams for this Association are bold and that’s because we are bold people. We will reconnect our alumni, empower ourselves and the younger generation, celebrate our achievements, and give back to the institution that made us who we are”, he promised.

Dr. Gad Shamaki Peter, reiterated that the victory belongs to all alumni who believe that the University of Jos was more than a University, but  a family, a movement and a legacy.

He described the election as a testament of their collective interest in making UJAA greater and better because it represents their unity in diversity, demonstrating that the spirit  of UNIJOS roared louder than ever.

The President expressed optimism that together, they had opened a new chapter for this great alumni Association and that was why he stood full of gratitude, energized by their trust that was fired up by the possibilities that lie ahead.

He added that “together, we will build an Association that is vibrant, visible, and valuable to all. An Association where no Josite will feel left behind. So, let’s go forward with boldness! Let’s go forward with pride! Let’s go forward as one UNIJOS family!”

The brand new President, therefore, called on every member of UJAA irrespective of those who voted for me or not to join hands stressing, “I strongly believe that if we stand together, there’s no mountain too high, no challenge too great, and no dream too big for the UNIJOS spirit.
