ECWA Council approves upgrade of ECWA leadership institute to training institute

The General Council of Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), has approved the upgrade of ECWA Leadership Institute to a Training Institution that would be globally recognised.

The ECWA President, Rev. Dr. Job Ayuba Bagat, disclosed this while reading a communique at the end of ECWA General Council Meeting, held at the ECWA International conference hall Jos recently.

The President said, “upholding Biblical Truth in line with ECWA’s undeterred commitment to the authority of the Holy Bible as the inspired Word of God and the ultimate standard for faith and practice, the Council unequivocally reaffirms that the Church will continue to steadfastly uphold biblical truths in all its teachings, ministries, and engagements with the world.

“Therefore, the ECWA Council approves the upgrade of the ECWA Leadership Institute to a training institution, thereby changing its nomenclature to ECWA Leadership Training Institute, which would be globally recognised”, he announced.

Bagat, further, disclosed that the Council has also approved an ICT Policy for the Church which was to take effect immediately. 

He revealed that the Council, has also approved the upgrade of the ECWA Hotels and Guest Houses, which was a Unit, to the status of a Department.

The President said, it has also recognised the important place of Sports among young people and called on all ECWA Churches to support the ECWA Sports Ministry and its activities.

However, the Council has reiterated its commitment towards Inter-Denominational Collaboration and Partnerships to strengthen its collaboration with Government MDAs and faith-based organisations, within and beyond in speaking with a unified voice on issues of both national and international concerns together.

The ECWA President, therefore, charged Local Churches to actively involved in social action and communal efforts to alleviate the suffering of members of their Churches and communities, and demonstrate the practical love of Christ through embarking in other humanitarian activities.
