Plateau State Command of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), has, through credible intelligence investigation, raided a criminal hideout in Jos North Local Government Area and recovered a car with over 500 rounds of 7.65mm ammunitions.
The State Commissioner of Police, Cp Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, disclosed this Wednesday, while briefing Journalists at the State Headquarters of the Command in Jos, the State capital.



He said, “I am delighted to brief you on a significant development in relation to the outstanding achievement of my Command in our relentless efforts to maintain law and order, reduce crime and improve peace on the Plateau.
“This time around, we have successfully recovered a substantial cache of ammunition that would have been used by criminal elements to unjustifiably take the lives of innocent citizens of the State and destroy properties as well.


“On 04/05/2025 at about 09:40pm, based on credible intelligence, a criminal hideout along Bauchi Road in Jos North LGA was raided and an abandoned Ash colour Golf Wagon with Reg. No. JJN 812 AH was recovered. When search was carried out on the vehicle by our operatives, 500 rounds of 7.65mm ammunition were recovered”, he revealed.
According to the CP, a case of culpable homicide was reported on 03/05/2025 of a yet to be identified person killed and it was in the process of this investigation, these recoveries were made.
He, therefore, assured Plateau citizens of making frantic efforts to arrest the perpetrators and recover their operational weapons.


“As we go on hunt for these men of the underworld, I call on the good citizens of Plateau State to please provide us with any relevant information that could help in our investigation.
“The Plateau State Police Command remains resolute in its mission to protect lives and properties and maintain law and order in the state. We are dedicated to creating a habitable environment for all residents of Plateau State”, Adesina assured.
