Words of wisdom

Ambassador Nanpon Danjuma Sheni, the PIDAN President

You dream. You plan. You reach out. There will be obstacles. There will be doubters. There will be mistakes. But with hard work, belief, focus, persistence, confidence, trust in God, and belief in yourself, there are no limits.

The secret to doing anything is believing that you can do it. Anything that you believe you can do, you can do. And I mean anything, as long as you believe.

Having a positive mental attitude is asking how something can be done rather than saying it can’t be done. To help others take courage and inner strength.

Giving yourself the time you need to heal, that’s a form of showing self-care. You have always been enough!

The Lord protects…GoodMorning and a blessed Wednesday……..

Ambassador Nanpon Danjuma Sheni, the PIDAN President

Respect those who honor and stay with you on and off-season. Once the rain is over, an umbrella becomes a burden to everyone. That’s how royalty ends when the benefit stops.

Not every smile is genuine. Observe those that remain through thick and thin, they are your real friends and draw them closer.

You must find the courage to leave the table if respect is no longer being served.

It’s better to have nobody than to have someone who is half there or doesn’t want to be there.

The Lord said “A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

The Lord Leads..Good morning and have a blessed Tuesday….

Stand on your feet, Prince Dickson charges Plateau women

Prince Charles Dickson, the Team Lead of Tattaunawa Roundtable

By Ezekiel Dontinna

The Team Lead  of Tattaunawa Round Table, Prince Charles Dickson, has admonished Plateau Women to stand on their feet beyond 16 days of activism celebration and form a confraternity that protects their rights to issues.

Mrs Felicity Gurumnan, the representative of the State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon Caroline Dafur, declaring the Seminar opened
Mrs Nene Dung, the State Chairperson of NAWOJ, delivering her welcome remarks

He gave the charge Monday, while  delivering lecture at the Seminar organised by the Plateau State Chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) on the occasion marking the 2024 Sixteen Days of Activism, held at the NUJ Secretariat Jos, the State capital.

The Tattaunawa Team Lead, said, “the government of the day is trying, but they can do better. So, then, women must stand up on their feet to ask for their demands beyond just 16 days.

“If not, there will be another 16 days of activism, another one and another one. Use this mechanism, whether it is in NAWOJ, Church system or Mosque system. Women on the Plateau should have some level of confraternity that protects their rights.

“And it should be in such a way that, when a woman is touched, all of us are touched and when one woman is hurt, we will begin to sing. You must have to ask what happened to the Plateau woman all over the country. That is what we call collective spirit”, Dickson advised.

He, however, described Plateau Women as the most hardworking, loyal and dedicated to the development of their homes and should not taken for granted, but treated rightly.

Dickson, therefore, called on the elderly women on the Plateau to start grooming upcoming Women who could talk truth to power like the likes late Ngo Hannatu Chollom and others to help liberate women from suppression.

Declaring the seminar opened, the Plateau State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Caroline Dafur, who was the Chairman of the occasion, commended NAWOJ for organising this thought provoking seminar and promised to collaborate with them to help educate the society.

Represented by Director CSDA, Mrs Felicity Gurumnan, the Commissioner described the theme: “Ending Gender-Based Violence Beyond Celebration” as timely considering how vulnerable women and children were in today’s society.

Earlier, the Plateau State Chairperson of NAWOJ, Mrs. Nene Dung, said it was to reaffirm their dedication to see how women and children were protected and rights respected in the society.

She, therefore, commended the State Ministry for Women Affairs and Social Development for creating a Safe Space in Bokkos Local Government where gender violence victims were housed.

“We are asking like Oliver Twist that, more Safe Space Projects be created all over the state especially, in the State Capital City because there are situations where we want to remove the survivors of violence environment to take them to”, Dung appealed.

The Lord despises double standards of every kind, He is not pleased by dishonest scales.

Our strength is shown in the things we stand for, our weakness is shown in the things we fall for.

It’s human to stand with the crowd and divine to stand alone with God. Remember he that must lead the orchestra must first back the crowd.

Don’t judge by listening to one side of a story, if you do, you might get hold of the wrong side.

Stop looking for happiness in the same place you lost it. But seek for joy in the Lord.

The Lord is just. Good morning and a blessed Monday…

Shun Get-Rich-Quick Syndrome, embrace integrity, hard work–Issa-Onilu

Mallam Lanre Issa-Onillu, the Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA)

By Ezekiel Dontinna

Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, has encouraged Nigerians to shun get-rich-quick syndrome at play in the system and embrace integrity, hard work  and opportunities provided by government.

Mrs Kaneng Tabitha Pam-Hworo, the Plateau State NOA Director

He stated this recently, while addressing Journalists at  press briefing organised by the Agency on the occasion marking the Nation-wide Flag Off of Sensitization Campaigns on the World HIV Day, Security Awareness, Get Rich Quick Syndrome, World Human Rights Day and the Tax Reform Bills, held at the Federal Secretariat Jos, the Plateau State capital.

The Director General, represented by the Plateau State Director NOA, Mrs Kaneng Tabitha Pam-Hworo, said government was aware of the erosion of the age long values and economic hardship often driving individuals toward unethical practices, but believed that there were better ways of addressing this.

He said, the Implementation of youth empowerment programs such as the National Social Investment Program (NSIP) and skill acquisition initiatives as well as supporting small and medium enterprises through grants and loans to promote entrepreneurship were major drivers to address this challenge.

Issa-Onillu, emphasised on the need to strengthen enforcement agencies like EFCC and ICPC to fight criminalized fraudulent practices, including internet fraud and financial crimes in the country.

“Citizens must reject shortcuts to wealth and embrace integrity, hard work, and the opportunities provided through government initiatives to make life better for citizens.

“In this Yuletide season, the tendency to resort to criminal ways to acquire ill gotten wealth so as to impress others is heightened.

“The NOA will in this month of December be carrying out nationwide sensitization against the get rich quick syndrome to encourage citizens to embrace integrity and hard work”, he reiterated.

The Director General, noted that commencing nationwide mobilization to unite Nigerians’ commitment to addressing pressing issues by fostering a more informed, secure and ethical society was the challenge before them that requires collective action and active participation from all Nigerians.

Sen Dachungyang alerts public on ruthless fraudsters, denies knowing Dr Lawson

By Ezekiel Dontinna

Senator Pam Mwadkon Dachungyang, has debunked having anything to do with one Dr Lawson and group on social media describing them as ruthless fraudsters and alerted public not to have any deal with them on his behalf.

This came in a press statement signed by SA Media to the Senator Pam Mwadkon Dachungyang, Eric Pam, and made available to newsmen in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

The statement states, “the office of the Distinguished Senator Pam Mwadkon Dachungyang has been alerted of fraudulent activities of one Dr. Lawson and his group on social media where they go about impersonating the Distinguished Senator concerning a purported agricultural-related empowerment program for the people of Plateau North.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the group of scammers operate mainly on Facebook where they cajole unsuspecting constituents about an empowerment program under the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and to be able to benefit, prospective beneficiaries are expected to pay a certain fee to qualify to be shortlisted.

“Already, we are aware that one person has fallen victim of these unscrupulous elements and has parted with various sums of money believing that he was charting with the Distinguished Senator on Facebook”, it disclosed.

The Senator cleared air that, the last empowerment program by his office was in October and no single participant paid a kobo to be a beneficiary and that, the only fee they spent at all was their transport to the venue of the event.

He, therefore, inform the general public and in particular, the people of Plateau North Senatorial District that, the Office of the Senator representing the Zone would NEVER ask them to pay any fee whatsoever to qualify for any employment programmes, “not yesterday, not today, and obviously not tomorrow”.

The stress that you feel does not exist solely within you. It extends beyond yourself and touches others.

Feelings of love, gratitude, and acceptance are powerful ways to heal yourself and your connection with others.

Worry a little bit every day and in a lifetime, you will lose a couple of years. You have the power within you to defeat anxiety.

If something is wrong, fix it, if you can, but train yourself not to worry. Worry never fixes anything. Sometimes you learn.

The Lord said “Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God”….

The Lord Resolves..Good morning and a blessed Sunday…

Middle Belt  committed to Nigeria’s stability– Mutfwang

Governor Caleb Mutfwang, of Plateau State

By Ezekiel Dontinna

The Middle Belt region, has been tagged to be standing firm to Nigeria’s stability and committed to mending the complex history of  the country over the years.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang, of Plateau State stated Saturday, while delivering his address at the Conference Workshops and Seminars organised by Conference of Autochthonous Ethic Communities Development Association (CONAECDA) in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

Hon Dan Kwada, SSA to Governor Caleb Mutfwang on Middle Belt Nationalities, representing the Governor

The Governor, represented by his Senior Special Adviser on Middle Belt Ethnic Nationalities, Hon Dan Kwada, said, “we in the Middle Belt, for many years, have been standing on the crossroads of Nigeria’s complex history.

Chief Joseph K Gwankat, the representative of the CONAECDA National Coordinator
Hon (Mrs) Sarah Ochekpe, former Minister of Water Resources
Ngida Zakawa Kwache, the District Head of Michika, Adamawa State
Lt col Abdullahi Muhammad, the representative of the GOC 3rd Armour Division Jos

“Despite our commitment, despite our efforts, despite everything we have done to stabilize this country, yet, we have suffered negligence, we have suffered underdevelopment, we have suffered security issues.

“In fact, in many circumstances, we have suffered underdevelopment, we have suffered security issues. sometimes we get condemned and blackmailed for our actual set of partnership”, he emphasized.

Mutfwang, however, expressed hope that conference like this would set the tone for better discussion that would drive all the processes toward securing and bringing development that would take them to greater heights.

Earlier, the National Coordinator of CONAECDA, Dr Zuwaqhu Bonat, represented by CONAECDA Vice President, Chief Joseph K. Gwankat, observed that the communities have something in common which was the violent displacement of their people.

“We always suspect that some people want to take over our land, but We are getting wiser than what it was, and I’m very happy with its development because I even in the 21st century, some people want to chase you out, as if you are a second citizen in Nigeria.

“I think in the Nigeria project, all of us are equal. But some people are believing that we are not equal. And they come under the umbrella of grazing, but it is deep down and not grazing”, he disclosed.

On her part, the former Minister of Water Resources, Hon (Mrs) Sarah Ochekpe, commended CONAECDA for standing firm in helping communities to appreciate and organise themselves in  where God placed them within the Nigerian state and prayed and hoped that the association continue to grow.

“I know most times that, communities have great expectation that government would do everything for them and because of that some communities had actually allowed themselves to be overwhelmed.

“Yes, the government has its responsibility to protect and defend the citizens and also the Nigerian territory, but, would you just sit back, hold your hands and wait until your whole family is annihilated or would we put up some level of resistance before the government agencies come? We have the constitutional right to also assist one another.

“We pray that, arising from this conference, the delegates will go back, encourage and be charged to go and also encourage one another in the communities to be vigilant and to be ready and willing to help communities to make sure that, they are properly organized to prevent those who want to displace them from continuing to do so”, she advocated.

There were goodwill messages from the representative of the GOC 3rd Armour Division, Lt. Col. Abdullahi Muhammad, the District Head of Michika in Adamawa State, Ngida Zakawa Kwache, Leader of the Uniting Middle Belt, Kiyitwe Gotom respectively.

The Participants who came across the recognised ethnic nationalities of the Middle-Belt later went into a closed door discussion session.

When you keep an open heart amazing things happen. Let yourself be open and life will be easier, don’t bottle up issues, don’t die in silence, and feel free to discuss issues with the right people.

A spoonful of salt in a glass of water makes the water undrinkable. A spoon of salt in a lake is almost unnoticed. Always feel free to express yourself, it is the best for your mental health.

Don’t assume, for assumption is the mother of frustration! The Lord said “Come let us reason together and He is a friend that is closer than a brother….
